Sasken developed an embedded device tester tailored for industrial devices. This board-level tester is specifically designed for conducting production tests on smart metering communication unit PCBs.

The customer needed testing for three individual PCBs, which was conducted using two distinct testers. 

Sasken identified test cases and formulated testing specifications and set up the tester systems. Leveraging the customer's pre-existing measurement equipment, Sasken seamlessly integrated it into the current setup. 

Sasken also designed jig and fixture sets alongside tester software. Our responsibilities involved electronics hardware testing, including current measurement, cellular (2G, 3G, LTE) radio testing, LED functionality, and push button assessment. We addressed a unique need for mains-driven power supply testing and discerned multiple product variants for each PCB. 

As a result, the tester system was deployed on the production line. The development of product-specific testers made use of the existing equipment already present in the production line.
